| Re: | Concord Road Geotechnical Investigation Proposed Widening and/or realignment |
Geosciences Design Group is currently conducting a geotechnical investigation with the proposed improvements to Concord Road in Williamson County for the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
A major part of the investigation includes subsurface exploration, i.e. field work in the form of borings. The findings from this exploration will help in determining the amount of right-of-way required for the new alignment. The equipment used for the field work wil linclude two different types; a conventional truck-mounted drill rig and an all-terrain drill rig. Based on the current project plans, the majority of the exploration will occur within the existing roadway alignment; however, in areas where the roadway is to be realigned or where side-slopes of the existing roadway are steep, borings will need to be located outside of the existing right-of-way.
In some cases, the use of construction equipment may result in a degree of surface disturbance. Every effort will be made to limit the impact of these activities. Once the exploration work is complete, the areas will be returned to a safe condition by backfilling the bore holes.
We plan to mobilize our equipment in the coming weeks. Your cooperation is appreciated.
