Brentwood is considering rezoning an 8 acre plot of land on Concord Rd. between Bonbrook and Willomet neighborhoods. More details are on the Willowmet website.

Meeting Schedule

All meetings are at 5211 Maryland Way at 7:00 PM. After comments from a Willowmet resident at the March 6 meeting, the planning commission has postponed the meeting dates. notification letter from Ragan Smith Assoc (2006-03-31). The new meeting dates are as follows: Brentwood Govt website

Summary of building Site

  1. 8+ acre parcel to be zoned S-1
  2. 3 acres to be paved for parking for 206 spaces
  3. setback 150 ft from Concord Rd, 50 ft from sides and rear.
  4. Buildings to cover 40,000 sq ft.
  5. Building will be 40+ ft high.
  6. Building to be built in 3 phases, with a 2 story gym built in final phase.
  7. Existing house will remain; other outbuildings will be taken down.
  8. Congregation size to be maxed at 344 people, currently abuot 100
  9. 2 dry ponds to be established bordering Whispering Willow Ct for drainage/runoff.
  10. Currently planned are Sunday services and Wednesday night activities.
  11. Blasting will be required - maybe 3 months worth.
  12. 3 lan driveway entrance to be directly across from Own Creek Park entrance.
  13. Church may be gated and existing fence left up if community desires.
  14. 20 feet high lighting fixtures throughout parking lot and church (could be put on timers, but on when people are there).
  15. Security lighting for church alwasy on.
  16. Independent Christian Church now meets in Woodmont Hills (formerly at the site next to FRA)
  17. Some evergreen screening will be planted (mainly discussed on Bonbrook side).
  18. An education building is in the plans, but denials concerning school.
  19. Buildings to be at front of site; parking behind.
  20. State to widen Concord to 3 lanes in 2007 Editor's note: Concord expansion plan is independent of this zoning decision
  21. All site preparation to be done upfront even though building will be completed in stages.
  22. Some trees around perimter will remain; those in middle will be removed for building and parking.
  23. Picnic area in plans.
  24. Berm might be build on Bonbrook side to help screen parking lot; nothing said about Willowmet.
